Favorable outcome at May 15th Board Meeting!

The LGUSD Board of Trustees voted to reverse BOTH motions which would have negatively affected Lexington School. The new motions were (paraphrased):

• Continue Geotech analysis of Lex site to reach conclusion with CGS
  
• Discontinue plan to move Lexington children to RJ Fisher Middle School in August 2012.
  

Direction was also given to the District Administration to report back in 4-6 weeks with more vetted estimates of possible financial impact of changes that may come from "augmented" geotech analysis. In addition, they are to report back on any/all other possible revenue sources which can be pursued to bridge the gap of existing facilities funds, and projected cost increases.

Although this meeting was a HUGE victory for the Lexington community, we MUST NOT relent! The focus will most likely turn back to cost and capacity, and we must be ready to continue the fight. Please continue to stay informed and involved so that when the time comes, we can mobilize quickly.
